In reality, it is all the factory preparation carried out to allow a subsequent, simple and secure installation of a towing device. This option consists of two main elements:

Structural preparation: The manufacturer reinforces certain points of the rear chassis so they can safely withstand the traction and weight forces exerted by a trailer. The towbar fixing points are also already provided and drilled, which avoids any risky modification of the vehicle's structure.

Electrical preparation: This is the most important aspect on modern vehicles. A specific wiring harness is installed at the factory, connecting the car's central electronic system to a standby socket, usually hidden in the boot.
