Regulations in France: what you need to know

Non-compliance with this rule is punishable by a €135 fine and the deduction of 3 points from the driver's license.

On the other hand, there are no tint restrictions for the rear side windows and the rear windshield. You can therefore opt for a darker tint on these surfaces, provided the vehicle is equipped with two exterior rearview mirrors.
