The number VIN (vehicle identification number) is the vehicle's serial number. It can be found on the E line of the registration certificate.

It is identical with the number engraved on the car's chassis. Each manufacturer must assign a vehicle identification number (VIN code) to each vehicle it produces. The VIN code is also called the NSV (Vehicle Serial Number) code. The VIN code consists of a series of 17 characters.

The code VIN is composed of the WMI constructor code, which is equivalent to the first three characters VF7

Then the VDS code which is 8 characters long, i.e. 3DBHZTGJ

The last 6 correspond to an internal manufacturer number, i.e. 780959

You can access the following information for free:

• Origin (if the vehicle was registered in France or imported)
• Serious accident (if the vehicle has been subject to a damaged vehicle procedure)
• Owners (the system will show how long the current owner has owned the car, as well as the history of ownership changes)
• Administrative situation Is the certificate of non-movement and non-opposition free of any mention?
